On March 25th, St. Mary’s High School Quiz Bowl hosted its first annual Middle School Quiz Bowl competition at St. Mary’s. To prepare, the HS QB team gathered on a “no school” day to research and write questions. They wrote twenty tossup questions, ten bonus round questions, and three lightning round categories of questions for five separate rounds of competition. There were over 250 questions in total!
Then on Saturday, March 25th, 12 teams from five separate schools, including St Marys, Lawton-Bronson, Okoboji, Sioux Central, and North Union, came to St. Mary’s school to see who could answer questions quickly, correctly, and competitively.
Dr. Larson wishes to commend the HS Quiz Bowl team members and the friends who volunteered to be the readers and scores in each of the rooms today. She also wants to send a great big thank you to Mr. Wunschel and Mrs. Fetrow for organizing and serving lunch and to Mrs. Pariseau for helping with scoring.
The day was a huge success!
